ZTE has just unveiled a new device with promising specs for a reasonable price. The newest entry to the China-based company?s Blade series, the ZTE Blade S6, comes with LTE support and pre-installed Android Lollipop. Learn more about the model below.
Galaxy-sounding name, iPhone-like aesthetics
No, this is not the upcoming flagship phone of a certain South Korean device maker. If you checked out the handset?s design (see below) and thought that it?s somehow related to a popular fruit-branded American smartphone, you?re still wrong. The ZTE Blade S6 may probably ?borrowed? some design inspiration from Apple but the similarities end there. This phone has many outstanding features, given its price, that are worth talking about.
ZTE Blade S6 specs
First off, this handset is equipped with a Sony IMX214 rear camera with 13-megapixel sensor. Selfie-inclined users won?t be disappointed as it also packs a 5-megapixel front snapper. The 5-inch display, however, is only 720p amounting to a modest 294 ppi pixel density. It has a 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 615 chipset from Qualcomm paired with 2GB RAM. Judging from those two specs, this model is apparently a mid-range offering by today?s standards.
What makes the ZTE Blade S6 remarkable in its chosen market segment is its support for fast 4G LTE networks. It also doesn?t hurt that it will be run by the new Android 5.0 Lollipop OS layered with ZTE?s own MiFavor 3.0. You also can insert two nano SIM cards inside the phone.
One of the most interesting features that this handset can do is gesture control courtesy of the company?s proprietary Smart Sense UI. It allows you to open or access apps like the music player or flashlight by just flicking your wrist. Sadly, this model only by a 2,400 mAh battery.
The ZTE Blade S6 will be sold worldwide by AliExpress. It will be tagged with a $249.99 price ans is set to go on sale come February 10. It will also be available in select markets through eBay and Amazon. Check out the new smartphone?s promo video below.
