With all the buzz surrounding E3 2017, we haven’t heard much about what Nintendo will be showcasing in the event. Fans are hoping to see some new games, as well as news on the Zelda Breath of the Wild DLC. It’s actually kind of surprising how there hasn’t been news on the extra content since it’s announcement months ago.
Currently, Breath of the Wild is the best game on Nintendo Switch, so fans want to see more of it. Admittedly, the game is huge and there are plenty of things to do in it, so fans won’t get bored. That being said, the lack of news is surprising and is making fans wonder if we will see an update during E3.
E3 DLC News
Expect Nintendo to promote the Switch during the show, with possible looks at the new Mario game and the recently announced Pokken port. Nintendo will also have their Treehouse show, where we might be able to see news regarding the Zelda: Breath of the Wild DLC. The first DLC pack has been detailed by the company, and there’s plenty of fun content for fans.
Some of the extra content includes new costumes from classic Zelda games, extra dungeons and more. There’s even a new trial and difficulty level, which should keep players busy till the next DLC pack comes out. It adds more of what fans want from the game and will please them, assuming the extra stuff is long and challenging.
Breath of Fresh Air
While the lack of news is disappointing, the upcoming Zelda: Breath of the Wild DLC does look really promising. Adding more to the open-world RPG is what fans want, and should make the best Switch game even better. Nintendo hasn’t given fans a proper release date yet, though the company did state that it would be released “this summer.”
Interestingly enough, the game will only have two DLC packs, both of which can be bought for US$19.99. Not exactly cheap, but compared to most games that have DLC, this Expansion Pass is a breath of fresh air. As absorbing as the game is, having new content should keep it even more fresh than it already is.
Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is available now on the Nintendo Switch and Wii U. The Expansion Pass is available now for US$19.99, though the packs won’t be available until this summer and the holiday season.
Meanwhile, Nintendo’s Spotlight will start on June 13 at 9 AM PT. The presentation will only last for 30 minutes. Those looking for more in-depth game presentations should check out Nintendo Treehouse, which starts right after the Spotlight event. The Treehouse event will return on June 14 and June 15, which starts at 10AM PT. Nintendo’s presentations can be watched here.
