Zelda: Breath of the Wild is still in development with no release date, so any bit of new information is welcome. Most fans know that it will be the last Wii U game, and one of the premiere title?s for the Nintendo Switch next year. Gameplay is also a nice mix of familiar Zelda tropes with features from other RPGs, making it interesting for newer and older fans.

The official Legend of Zelda Facebook page has decided to share a screenshot of a new enemy that will be in the game. While not much has been revealed beyond the screenshot, it seems like the intriguing mix of fantasy and tech-inspired enemies continues.

A Mini Guardian?

Since this Zelda: Breath of the Wild screenshot has Link in a temple or dungeon, it seems like he is facing off against a mini guardian. The first ever trailer of the game actually showed Link take on a gigantic guardian, so this could tie in to that. Link has always faced off against a number of colorful foes, so here?s hoping Breath of the Wild continues to do that.

As far as designs go, the mini guardian looks alright, but not too threatening. It only has one arm, which is used to hold a mystical-looking sword and yet, it?s still far from scary. Since it is a mini guardian, it will likely put up a fight and might even be a mini boss in the dungeon. Fans will have to wait and see.

More Enemies?

Now that Nintendo has unveiled this enemy for Zelda: Breath of the Wild, the company could reveal more as the game reaches an inevitable release date. A number of them have already been seen in various gameplay videos, but there are probably more that haven?t been revealed.

Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will be coming to the Wii U and Nintendo Switch, though no date has been given. Nintendo actually re-released two older Zelda games on Wii U – Wind Waker and Twilight Princess – to keep fans happy. It?s likely that these two will be re-released for the console/handheld hybrid before Breath of the Wild.
