?YouTube Red lets you enjoy videos across all of YouTube without ads, while also letting you save videos to watch offline on your phone or tablet and play videos in the background,? According to an official blog of YouTube. ?Your membership extends across devices and anywhere you sign into YouTube,? the blog added. This includes their recently launched YouTube Gaming app and a brand new YouTube Music app that will be soon available to the public.
According to the Verge, ?with Red, YouTube is signaling a definitive shift from an ad-funded video-hosting service to a media company that will eventually go head to head with Hulu and Netflix. YouTube has the potential to dominate the industry: if just 5 percent of its U.S. viewers were to sign up for the service, it would add more than a billion dollars in annual revenue to the company?s bottom line.?
Why you shouldn?t download
It?s basically pretty much the same whether or not you?re watching YouTube videos with or without ads. It gives you the idea of watching a video without any distraction but for a cost of $9.99 a month. YouTube Red offers you the idea of paying them almost $10 a month just to skip a 1-minute video, which everybody is willing to wait for, unless you have a short attention span and a patience of a flea.
We can?t blame YouTube viewers for not taking advantage of the idea of watching YouTube for free but their will eventually come a time when YouTube Red will become a regular go to app together with Hulu and Netflix.
YouTube Red will be available to download for everyone on October 28 for $9.99 a month. YouTube viewers in the U.S. can also try YouTube Red for free on a one month trial on the same date.
