Rumors are floating around that YIFY and YTS are making a comeback and that the previous website has returned with all the old torrents of movies in which the supposed return of YIFY and YTS came from information sent by a number of users to publication website TorrentFreak.
Although majority of people shared that YIFY is back, TorrentFreak stated that the site given was just a crude imitation, saying, ?the sites we?re being linked to look like to real deal but they are fakes, every single one of them.? The rumored website does index old YIFY torrents but it won?t have updated movies anymore.
According to TorrentFreak, ?It?s a blatant attempt to cash in on the void left by the demise of YTS? and that ?torrent sites will soon be flooded with fake torrents claiming to be from YIFY.? Reports indicated that YIFY and YTS were shutdown because of a multi-million dollar lawsuit filed in a New Zealand court by the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) and the return of them are highly unlikely to happen.
Major movie studios such as Paramount Pictures, Columbia Pictures, Sony Pictures, and Twentieth Century Fox Film are just of the few who were responsible for issuing the complaint against YIFY as well as Popcorn Time.
?This coordinated legal action is part of a larger comprehensive approach begin taken by the MPAA and its international; affiliates to combat content theft,? MPAA head Chris Dodd said in a statement according to TorrentFreak. ?Popcorn Time and YTS are illegal platforms that exist for one clear reason: to distribute stolen copies of the latest motion picture and television shows without compensating the people who worked so hard to make them,? he adds.
TorrentFreak stated that the result of the lawsuit is still unclear but sources told the publication that the accused are ?working on an agreement to minimize the harm, possibly in exchange of information.?
