Just over a week back, Xiaomi launched an upper-mid-range smartphone called, the ?Redmi Pro.? Following this, a new rumor from China says the company is gearing up to release a compact sibling under the name ?Xiaomi Redmi Pro Mini.?
Going by the?Weibo update, the Redmi Pro Mini will reportedly come with a 5.2-inch OLED display. In comparison, the original device flaunted a phablet-like 5.5-inch screen.
The stand-out feature of the original device is the dual-camera setup. Not to forget, many devices earmarked for release this year will be touting a dual camera. This includes the?Apple iPhone 7 Plus variant as well.
However, for the compact device,?Xiaomi has apparently made use of a single lens camera. To compensate, a dual-tone LED flash has been mounted near the sensor.
Moreover, the display will be protected by a 2.5D curved glass. This mid-range device will reportedly come equipped with a fingerprint scanner embedded in the home button.
Xiaomi has always packed its devices with generous battery units. The Redmi Pro Mini is no different as it will apparently feature a 4,000mAh battery cell.
Under the hood, an octa-core (Qualcomm Snapdragon 652) processor will reportedly power the device. Xiaomi is known for selling multiple versions based on the RAM and internal storage combinations. There is no change in this unwritten rule this time around either.
GSM Arena says the standard variant of the Xiaomi Redmi Pro Mini will come backed by 3GB of RAM and 32GB of built-in storage combination. This model will reportedly be priced at CNY 1,499 (about $225).
The 4GB RAM and 32GB storage combination, on the other hand, will set the buyers back by CNY 1,699 (roughly $256). The high-end version of this handset comes bundled with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage capacity and the price has been quoted as CNY 1,899 (about $286).
However, readers are advised to take this report with a pinch of salt as Xiaomi has not confirmed any details yet.
