CES 2017 is certainly living up to its reputation as the go-to for innovative tech trends and products that will set the tone for the rest of the year. During its press preview and the first day alone, we’ve already seen amazing products to watch out for. Among these is the Xiaomi Mi TV 4 which is 30 percent thinner than an iPhone.
Xiaomi Mi TV 4 Features
The design of Xiaomi’s new TV is perhaps the most noteworthy among its features. It’s basically like the new phones today, except of course it’s a TV that’s meant to cater to your entertainment whims. The TV will be available in three sizes: 45 inches, 55 inches, and 65 inches. Measuring only 4.9 mm wide, it’s among the thinnest TVs to be produced. What’s more, it almost has no bezel, which makes it seem invisible if you look at it from the side. Adding to this invisible effect is the “very understated” transparent stand.
Operating behind the Mi TV 4 is an AI and PatchWall UI. Backed by an AI and PatchWall UI, the new TV will amazingly behave like most apps today, as it will provide personalized recommendations of titles. However, this feature will likely be only available in China, according to Tech Crunch. Moreover, just like most phones and smart TVs today, the new Xiaomi Mi TV features an adaptive grid, which according to Hugo Barra, Xiaomi’s VP, was inspired by magazine layouts.

Further setting it apart from other smart TVs, the Xiaomi Mi TV 4 is modular, so you can upgrade your motherboard when you want to. There’s also a sound bar which you can connect to the TV via a cable. The sound bar is compatible with Dolby Atmos and boasts 10 speakers, two satellite speakers, and subwoofer. The new TV’s price is pegged at “well under $2,000.” It will be available later this year.
