According to a?latest report, the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is gearing up for release with top-of-the-shelf configurations, along with an impressive exterior design. If the reports are true, this Xiaomi device will flaunt dual-curved-edge display similar to Samsung?s Galaxy Note 7.
The Mi Note 2 will apparently come powered by the widely-used Snapdragon 820, clocked at 2.15GHz. In contrast, past rumors suggested that this device will make use of Qualcomm?s Snapdragon 821. The difference between the two chipsets is that the SD821 is slightly over-clocked when compared to the original.
Furthermore, Phone Radar says the internal configurations will be backed by a generous 6GB of RAM. The only high-end smartphone with 6GB RAM onboard is the OnePlus 3, which received a modest response. To top it off, an upcoming Galaxy Note 7 variant will come with 6GB of RAM in tow. However, the release will be restricted to selected regions.
Software-wise, Google?s latest Android 7.0 Nougat will run the device with a custom MIUI 188.8.131.52 on top of it. This also means, upon release, the?Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will become one of the very few devices like?LG V20 and?Nexus 2016 variants to come with Nougat straight out of the box.
The leak also says the upcoming handset will come equipped with 64GB of native storage space. Out of the 64GB, about 52.28GB will be free for users. Looking at the history, the expectation; however, is that Xiaomi might introduce a 128GB high-end variant as well.
Even though the leak doesn?t disclose screen-related configurations, a display between 5.5-inch and 5.7-inch is expected. With 2K resolution becoming the new norm, the Mi Note 2 might also come with one as this is a high-end smartphone of Xiaomi. After the lukewarm response to the flagship Xiaomi Mi 5, the company might be banking on this new device to turn around the current status quo.
While the Chinese tech giant has not confirmed the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 release date yet, rumor has it that this device will be introduced at the IFA 2016 event scheduled in Berlin between September 2 and September 7.
