Xbox One News: New Features Revealed At Gamescom 2015, Windows 10 integration, Xbox Chatpad And More

Microsoft has the edge among Nintendo and Sony as it was the sole console maker?that staged a press conference at Gamescom 2015 in Cologne, Germany. This enabled Microsoft to entice potential and existing customers with new gameplay for their console along with new features for the Xbox One such as Windows 10 functionality.

Microsoft?s bid to make the Xbox One a complete all-in-one entertainment system is slowly being realized as the company introduced and expanded more features for their console.

Here are the new Xbox One features announced at Microsoft?s Gamescom press conference:

Windows 10 powers The Xbox One This Year

While the feature has long been announced, it has only been announced today that the ?New Xbox one Experience? will arrive this November.

This feature will introduce a redesigned user experience to allow users to be faster in getting content and accomplishing tasks. An updated store will also be introduced to help users find digital games easier.

The feature will also help you find what your fellow Xbox friends are doing on their consoles as it includes an upgraded Activity Feed and Trending on Xbox Live.

Users will no longer have to go out of their way just to record live gameplay on their consoles. The new feature will allow full DVR functionality for the Xbox One. This will enable users to stream shows on any Windows 10 device and download them for viewing whenever you want. Another useful feature that may be introduced is the digital assistant Cortana who, like Apple’s Siri, helps you find and organize your things via voice recognition.

Xbox One Backward Compatibility

Microsoft is gearing to enable users to play their Xbox 360 games on the Xbox One. Around 100 Xbox 360 games will be available to play come November.

Microsoft has made this feature more attractive as they announced that purchasing the Gears of War: Ultimate Edition will net users the entire Xbox 360 gears of war collection for free and usable via Backwards Compatibility. Microsoft has announced that all Gears of War titles will be supported by BC, Xbox Wire reported.

Microsoft however is won?t be able to allow BC for all your favourite titles as they need to make publishers? agree first on allowing the feature. Microsoft has released a poll after E3 2015 for people to vote on what games they should support with BC. Rapper Snoop Dog recently campaigned on Twitter to make more people vote for BC for?his favourite game.

Xbox Chatpad

The Xbox Chatpad looks to provide easier communication and searching on the Xbox One. The Chatpad will allow users to easily chat with their friends via txt messages and easily type what they want to browse.

The Chatpad will have programmable buttons for shortcut presses for functions such as screenshots. It will also have a stereo headphone jack.

The Chatpad will be available for both the Xbox One and Windows 10 and will release this mid-2016.

Xbox Elite Wireless Controller

The Xbox Elite Wireless Controller was?announced last E3 2015 hyped many fans and enticed them to shell out a whopping $150 for this sleek looking controller which offers a more comfortable playing experience and claims to improve a users? performance in gaming. Some of the touted features include interchangeable thumbsticks and Directional buttons; heavily customizable button mapping; over 255 controller profiles; and adjustable thumbstick sensitivity.
