Recently, Activision?s Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 was seen again on the Xbox One. Previously, this game also appeared on the Xbox One Backwards Compatibility library a few months back but was retracted quickly. Will Xbox One players receive Modern Warfare 2 soon as part of its backwards compatible library or is it just another leak?

According to a report from Italian news site GameExperience, they found uploaded footages of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 on the Xbox One online platform. This might be a tease of an upcoming Modern Warfare 2 on the Xbox One Backwards Compatibility system. However, Activision is yet to confirm this, so we?ll have to wait and see if it?s really happening.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is currently on third place in the Xbox Feedback polls with 150,602 votes. Call of Duty Black Ops 2 tops the list with 185,934 votes, followed by The Elder Scrolls 5 Skyrim with 165,036. However, Modern Warfare 2?s high ranking on the list may mean nothing as the the Xbox One Backwards Compatibility often focuses more on the extremely influential games, other older AAA games and indie games, though Microsoft may notice the demand for these titles too.

Activision will be releasing Call of Duty Infinite Warfare this November 4, along with Modern Warfare Remastered. While Call of Duty fans may love the Modern Warfare series equally, an almost simultaneous release of a backwards compatible Modern Warfare 2 release and a remastered first Modern Warfare will definitely divide the players who want to play the earlier Call of Duty games.

Modern Warfare 2 also appeared on the Xbox One online platform last April. Microsoft may actually be teasing Call of Duty fans with the game?s second appearance on the platform recently. However, Activision hasn?t officially announced that Modern Warfare 2 will be included in the Xbox One Backwards Compatibility system as its official Call of Duty Twitter account mainly talks about the upcoming Modern Warfare Remaster. For now, we can only wait for official confirmation before we start celebrating for a backwards compatible Modern Warfare 2 on the Xbox One.
