Xbox Games with Gold July 2016: Highly Demanded Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Titles Microsoft Should Release

By on

With July just around the corner, it?s time to start speculating about next month?s Xbox Games with Gold. This month, Microsoft included XCOM: Enemy Unknown, a backwards-compatible title, as one of its offerings. Given the huge catalog of last-gen games still missing from the list, what other games could make the jump to the Xbox Games with Gold program?

Xbox Games With Gold to Add More Backwards Compatible Games?

Over on the Xbox feedback site, Microsoft has?an ongoing poll asking players which games they would like to see brought over to the Xbox One via backwards compatibility. It?s possible that some of these games could eventually become a part of Games with Gold as well.

So far, Call of Duty is dominating the list with five titles in the top eight. Black Ops II tops the chart with over 176,000 votes. The Modern Warfare Trilogy occupies spots 4 through 7, while Call of Duty World at War comes in at number 8. The only non-CoD titles in the top 10 are Skyrim at no. 2, Red Dead Redemption at no. 3, Mass Effect 3 at no. 9, and Fallout New Vegas at no, 10.

Given the recent announcement of the remastered Skyrim edition, it?s highly unlikely that we?ll see that game get backwards compatibility and a Games with Gold release anytime soon. The same goes for Red Dead Redemption, which has been the subject of many remaster rumors over the past few months.

Both Mass Effect and Fallout already have entries in the backwards compatibility list, which makes them good candidates for the Xbox Games with Gold lineup some time in the future.

What do you think? What last-gen titles do you want to see free on Xbox Live in the near future? Tell us your suggestions in the comments section below.
