Square Enix has announced today that their rumored Xbox exclusive game Tomb Raider Rising will actually be coming to PS4 in Holiday 2016 and for PC ?in early 2016?.
Fans of the Lara Croft franchise who are on PlayStation platforms can now be at ease that the game will be coming to their consoles, albeit almost more than a year later compared to Microsoft console, a report said.
When Rise of the Tomb Raider was announced as an Xbox timed Exclusive during last year?s Microsoft E3 2014 conference, dozens of fans clamored that the game was slowly being acquired by Microsft to combat Sony?s swash-buckling action-adventure, Uncharted, as Square Enix wouldn?t disclose what other platforms the game would release on.
The Xbox Exclusivity rumor slowly seemed to come true, Polygon reported, as it was announced in Gamescon 2014 that the sequel to Tomb Raider would be exclusively coming to Xbox in Holiday 2015. Square Enix added on a?Tumblr post with a seemingly apologetic message to PC and PlayStation gamers: ?This doesn?t mean that we?re walking away from our fans who only play on PlayStation or on PC. Those are great systems, with great partners, and amazing communities. We have Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris coming to those platforms this December, and Tomb Raider The Definitive Edition is available on PS4?.
This has angered Tom Raider fans as they wouldn?t be able to play the game. It was even harder for those who were willing to wait for the game on PS4 and those who associated the Tomb Raider franchise with PlayStation as the game was popularized on Sony?s first PlayStation console.
Rise of the Tomb Raider, developed by Crystal Dynamics, is a sequel to the Tomb Raider game reboot dubbed ?Tomb Raider? released in 2013. In Rise of The Tomb Raider, Lara Croft will explore the Siberia and combat an organization named Trinity in a race to unearth Siberia?s secret.
Tomb Raider will release this November 10 for Xbox One and Xbox 360.
