Looks like we won’t be seeing Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart in the next X-Men movie titled X-Men: Apocalypse
It was no doubt that the last film, X-Men: Days of Future Past was a total hit and fans were excited when they saw the bonus credit scene.
It?s actually not that surprising considering that the cast of DOFP was astonishing, a combination of the past AND the future. It was well balanced and the action?the sentinels versus the X-Men?was breathtaking!
However, fans of the franchise might be in for a shock with this latest news for the next movie, X-Men: Apocalypse.
The sad and exciting news for the 2016 movie X-Men: Apocalypse
Let?s start with the sad news first, according to cinemablend?s report, Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart won?t reprise their role as Magneto and Professor Xavier in the next movie.
In the most recent interview via comicbook, Sir Patrick Stewart was asked by Larry King if he will make an appearance in X-Men: Apocalypse, here is his answer ?No. Nor Sir Ian McKellen, either? the famed British actor also added ?I was learning quite a lot more about it last night, and it is going to be looking very much at the earlier lives of all our characters, And so I don?t think we?ll be making an appearance.?
It?s really sad to know that both of these actors won?t be appearing in the next film.
Now for the exciting news, screenwriter and producer of the film Simon Kinberg told The Daily Beast a few months back ?[X-Men: Apocalypse] will focus primarily on the First Class cast, but it will certainly have some of the original cast involved, too.?
Looks like one of the original casts we are about to see on that movie is none other than Hugh Jackman?s character Logan ?Wolverine? and possibly a few more.
The official cast of X-Men: Apocalypse
So far there?s still no news as to whom we?ll get to see in the next X-Men movie. But one thing is for sure though, there?s no Sir Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart in the roster. However, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence will reprise their role in X-Men: Apocalypse along with Hugh Jackman.
X-Men: Apocalypse is set for release in theaters next year, May 27, 2016
