A couple of months ago, news?about the?X-Men: Apocalypse was more centered on ?who should play (character?s name) in the next movie?? According to the Screenrant report, the production is looking for three new actors to play the role of the younger version of Scott Summers (Cyclops), Jean Grey and Ororo Munroe (Storm).

Now, the reason why they have to change a few cast members, (not to mention the exclusion of Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart in the cast), is because the setting of the story will revolve around the 1980s, specifically in 1983, as stated in a report?by Cinemablend.

During that time, the three characters (Scott, Jean and Ororo) have just enrolled in Xavier?s School for the Gifted.

In another report by?Screenrant, Bryan Singer, X2, X-Men: First Class, X-Men: Days of Future Past and the X-Men: Apocalypse director recently tweeted and confirmed the cast who will play the role of those three Mutants.

As said on that tweet, the actors who are going to play the role are as follows:

  • Scott Summers (Cyclops) is going to be played by Tye Sheridan
  • Jean Grey is going to be played by Sophie Turner from the hit TV Show Game of Thrones
  • And Ororo Munroe (Storm) is going to be played by Alexandra Shipp, the actress who played Aaliyah in the movie Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B

X-Men: Apocalypse?will be shown in theaters on May 27, 2016. Aside from the new cast, it stars?Jennifer Lawrence,?Evan Peters,?Channing Tatum,?Michael Fassbender,?Oscar Isaac,?Nicholas Hoult,?James McAvoy?and many more. According to Collider, Hugh Jackman may reprise his role as Wolverine, but that is still a rumor. More information will be confirmed in the coming months for sure, so hand on to your seats!
