This weekend?s annual, pre-recorded X Factor Six Chair Challenge, in which Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh, Sharon Osbourne and Nicole Scherzinger decide which acts to take through to Judges? Houses, has been leaked online by a blog which boasts of a 25K social reach.
According to The Sun, the results, which were to be aired this weekend, were leaked 7 weeks ago in a mystery blog posted by a modeling agency. The post revealed which acts were through and read: ?We think they?ll be in the final? You heard it first here folks?Keep an eye out for more updates!?
The company involved in the leak was quick to remove the message after the website was reported to X Factor. The leak breached the show?s strict confidentiality rules. It looks like The Bachelor Australia does a better job at confidentiality.
The post has since been removed. Since the website has 25K followers, and has been live for the past seven weeks, it means viewers could have possibly stumbled across the leak. Furthermore, the spoiler could have been potentially shared on social media within their own circles.
Last Saturday?s episode is not without its own controversy. Viewers called the explosive scene as staged after noticing that contestant Kirsty Murphy already had a microphone in hand ahead of invading the set.
The contender didn?t want to miss her chance to go for an audition that on the last day as midnight approached, she gate-crashed another performance. She belted out Alicia Keys? If I Ain?t Got You before the judges leading to a definite increase of ratings due to the chaos it caused.
Viewers were doubtful that the hopeful?s desperate dash to Simon Cowell and the rest of the panel were authentic. One Twitter user wrote, ?So?she ran in already mic?d up?? Another declared the scenes were ?set up.?
Back to the X Factor leak, to avoid any spoilers of Saturday night?s show, it would be best to stay off social media until then.
X Factor is shown in ITV Saturdays at 8pm.
