Earpers rejoice as Wynonna Earp Season 2 has been officially confirmed by Syfy at the San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) 2016. The show?s renewal has been possible because fans have been vocal on social media about renewing the show for a second season.

The western supernatural series may have suffered from low ratings during its first season run but their loyal and passionate fan-base sealed the deal for the show. Syfy ordered 10 episodes for the second installment which is set to be released Spring of 2017. Meanwhile, Dominique Provost-Chalkley talks about her hopes and expectations for her character, Waverly Earp.

Bubbly Waverly to evil Waverly?

During their SDCC panel, Provost-Chalkley revealed that she wants to explore on ?evil Waverly.? Going into the second season, she still wants to play the ?bubbly Waverly but also evil Waverly.? In the first season, she found out that she is not actually an Earp and the actress questioned whether or not her character will be able to tell her sister, Wynonna, the truth about her identity.

According to Gossip and Gab, the black goo Waverly touched at the final moments of the first season?s finale could possibly make her evil. Provost-Chalkley adds that she wants to see her character struggle with it. The finale cliffhanger might have suggested that Waverly could be a villain in the next season or her ?dark side? might come out in ?fits.?

Aside from Waverly exploring more of her identity in the next season, she will further explore on her sexuality as well. Her relationship with Officer Nicole Haught (Katherine Barrell) made a huge impact among fans and the LGBT community; and, the cast and the show creator never expected that kind of response.

Provost-Chalkley described Waverly?s relationship with Haught as an ?incredible and a beautiful storyline to happen, to get to play, and discover her sexuality.?

While Barrell felt that WayHaught really ?resonated with people.? She also shared the overwhelming response she received from fans, ?When someone comes up to you and says, ?what you did made me happy. What you did made me proud. What you did made me see myself and feel great about it.? That?s the best response you can ever get from an audience. So, I am thrilled. And I?m going to just try my best to represent it the way it should be done and do her justice.?

What do you think about Waverly?s fate in Season 2? Are you excited for more of WayHaught?
