Good news for Wynonna Earp fans. It will be renewed for it?s second season on SyFy. Wynonna Earp Season 2 was announced to arrive to our TV screens sometime next year. The first season debuted on April 1, 2016 both in the Canada and the United States. It is carried by CHCH-DT in Canada and SyFy in the United States.
Wynonna Earp, for those that are new to this, is a Canadian Western horror television series. It is based on the comic book series of the same name by Beau Smith. The show follows the main protagonist Wynonna Earp (Melanie Scrofano) in her quest to rid her hometown of Revenants. The Revenants are the revivals of the criminals that were killed by Wyatt Earp, whom Wynonna is a descendant of. According to the Old West Kansas records of Kansas Heritage, Wyatt Earp had no known children.
Anyways, in the Wynonna Earp universe, the Earp family has a curse. Revenants, 77 of them, are revived to kill the oldest living Earp descendant when he or she turns 27. In the start of the series, Wynonna turns 27. To end the curse, she must kill all of them using the Peacemaker–Wyatt Earps? original gun. She is helped in this crusade by her sister Waverly (Dominique Provost-Chalkley) and Agent Xavier Dolls (Shamier Anderson).
Wynonna Earp season 2 is highly anticipated by a loyal fanbase to answer the questions left by the season one finale. Wynonna?s sister Waverly was last seen touching a black puddle of goo and seemed to have gotten possessed by some mysterious thing. We then saw her pulling out a gun then the lights went out and we hear the gunshot. This was the big cliffhanger as the episode and season ended. Will Waverly be the next season?s antagonist? Or will this just be a phase as Wynonna and company will save her from it?
Wynonna Season 2 is reported to premiere on March 31, 2017, but no official confirmation has been released yet. Stay tuned in for more updates.
