New details have been revealed about the WWE 2K17 My Career mode in a video. Rather than being a rehash of last year’s mode, this year has one major change: Paul Heyman. The man that brought Brock Lesnar and CM Punk to superstardom will now be a major part of My Career.
Players can choose to go the NXT route or go to the main roster right away with Heyman. Both scenarios should have interesting consequences, as seen in the video. Furthermore, fans also get a sneak peek on how to get virtual currency and the promo engine. This should make the mode more interesting than it has been in the year’s past.
Be A Paul Heyman Guy
Choosing Heyman over NXT will bring the player’s created superstar straight to the main roster. This is a fairly interesting scenario and one that fans will enjoy in WWE 2K17. Those who want to skip NXT will likely pick this mode, since that is where the juiciest angles happen. It’s not going to be easy though.
As stated in the video revealed by Heyman Hustle, heading to the main roster right away will make enemies. Triple H will not be pleased at the player skipping NXT, since he helped make it. Other WWE superstars might even attack the player, like Seth Rollins does in the video. It’s all fairly intriguing.
Talk The Talk, Walk The Walk
Whether players choose Heyman or NXT, they will have to sell shirts and cut promos. This is a pretty good concept, one that lets the player stay creative. Fans can see how much currency their shirts make and when they will have to make a new one. It’s a cool way to make money, outside of wrestling in matches.
Promos are also a big part of WWE 2K17. The promo engine will have players engaging the audience with a microphone in hand. There will be a meter that shows how engaged the audience will be, so this should be interesting. Players can also use promos to stay good or bad and maybe even switch allegiances.
WWE 2K17 is scheduled for an October 11 release. The game will be available on PS4, Xbox One, PS3 and Xbox 360. Fans who pre-order the game get Goldberg as a bonus character. There is also a NXT edition for fans of the development brand.
