Talks of a sequel for the hit movie World War Z are already ongoing, and will be in the production stage early next year. No less than Steven Knight, the awesome writer from the zombie movie, gives a quick update for the second film. Arguably, fans of the book weren?t amazed at the turnout of the movie adaptation World War Z, but somehow it became an interesting and entertaining film, shared by Den of Geek.
The $540 million box office hit is apparently moving forward with the sequel hiring Juan Antonio Bayona as its new director. Although we know that director Marc Forster won?t be coming back to the sequel, we can still expect a more thrilling experience from World War Z 2.
Knight shared with Collider that he just passed the latest draft for the screenplay of World War Z 2. ?I was approached with the idea of ?how do we move this along?? so how could I resist?? he shared. There?s still the mystery on whether or not the sequel is going to pick up after the first movie, or run along between the second and third act of the original book. ?I think the beauty of the first film was the way that it never paused for breath. It never spent a moment thinking, ?Hang on a minute, we?d better tell the audience what this is all about.? It stayed in the moment, it stayed with that person.?
So in hopes of experiencing an exciting World War Z 2 movie, producers David Ellison, Dede Gardner, and Jeremy Kleiner will have to take it up a notch higher if they want to make a better zombie movie.
All we know is that Brad Pitt will be coming back as actor Gerry Lane and as producer for the sequel and that World War Z 2 is set to release on June 9, 2017.
