Gamers are always in an ongoing debate regarding the best games available and with everyone having their own preferences, it’s hard to end the debate. When it comes to the best RPGs of all time, Famitsu recently asked fans what titles should be included on the list. Joining the list are a few iconic RPGs from various generations and as expected, CD Projekt Red’s The Witcher 3 is part of the list.
Dualshockers reports that Famitsu recently published a best RPGs list of all time based on reader votes. Bagging the number 20 spot is The Witcher 3 with a total of 73 votes. While the 20th spot may not seem too impressive, it’s worth noting that it’s the only Western title that made it on the list.
The other entries on the list as voted by fans include classic RPGs such as Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy 7, Xenogears and Suikoden 2. New games such as Xenoblade Chronicles, Final Fantasy 15 and Nier Automata also got in. Topping the list by a huge margin is Persona 5.
The list counted the votes from readers in Japan. The Witcher 3 managing to place at the 20th spot is a big deal as gamers from the country have their own tastes when it comes to RPG. That’s one of the reasons why Person 5 topped the list. Out of all the entries, The Witcher 3 is one of the most different in terms of gameplay.
CD Projekt Red’s third entry in the franchise is considered as the best game of 2015. As listed on GoTYPicks, The Witcher 3 garnered nearly 200 Game of the Year awards across all gaming websites. Aside from a solid gameplay and story, the title is lengthy and expansive. It’s no surprise that players love The Witcher 3 regardless of where they’re from and their preferences in gaming.
