In a new strategy document released by developer CD Projekt Red, the sale of Witcher 3 stands at more than 20 million units sold worldwide. The document also sheds more light on plans of the Polish developer till 2021.
Witcher 3 was an instant success with most reviewers rating it very positively. So it is not a surprise that the game has crossed the 20 million mark within a year of its launch. In comparison, Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings took three months to sell a million copies. Witcher 3 sold four million copies in the first two weeks of the game?s launch in May.
The document reveals more details about the popularity and success of last year?s release, Witcher 3.
?The Studio?s newest release ? The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt ? debuted in 2015 for the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and has since received over 800 awards and accolades, including 250 game of the year awards. The game was released simultaneously in 15 language versions, on all key markets, including Europe, the Americas, Asia, Australia and Africa. Along with the globally available digital edition of the game, box editions were made available in 109 countries.?
The document, after detailing the developer?s vision and mission, goes on to talk about its plans for year 2017-2021.

The most exciting news revealed in the document is the new AAA RPG CD Projekt Red will release sometime in the 4 year window.
Cyberpunk 2077 is also a much-awaited title by fans of the developer. Speaking to Dualshockers, studio head Adam Badowski revealed that Cyberpunk 2077 will be much bigger and revolutionary in scale compared to Witcher 3.
