It looks like gamers won?t have to wait too long before they get their hands on The Witcher 3 Blood and Wine DLC. GRY Online, one of Poland?s biggest video game websites, is reporting that the final expansion to CD Projekt Red?s acclaimed RPG is coming out on April 26. The date falls in line with the developer?s previously announced ?first half of 2016? release window. WCCFTech points out that the date falls on a Tuesday, which was the same day that the game?s first expansion, Hearts of Stone, was released.
Blood and Wine will be Spilled This April
Blood and Wine promises to be the definitive capstone to the saga of Geralt of Rivia. With 20 hours of new content and a whole new region to explore, it?s certainly one of the most feature rich expansion packs we?ve seen in quite some time. Set in the duchy of Touissant, a wine-producing region unspoiled by vicious war depicted in the base game, The Witcher 3 Blood and Wine DLC pits the White Wolf against what senior story writer Jakub Szamalek called a ?charismatic and memorable? opponent.
He says that Blood and Wine?s story will be independent of the Witcher 3, functioning basically as a standalone title.
?Blood and Wine is an independent history, not tied in particularly closely with the main plot of the Wild Hunt. With our experience and feedback received since the game is on sale, we believe we have achieved something even better than the main game.?
The game will also bring new skills, items, and equipment into the mix. Our previous report mentioned things like upgradeable Witcher gear, more Mutagen and Skill slots, and some all-new signs.
