Microsoft?s long rumored Surface Phone is expected to be released early in 2017. This is following reports of the company?s presence at the Mobile World Congress. The smartphone will pack some top of the line hardware and features. It will put Microsoft in the lead along with the top phone makers.?A fresh batch of Microsoft Surface Phone renders and concept designs give credence to its early launch in the upcoming months and the new year.

Surface Phone Renders

The latest Surface Phone renders from Weibo tipster @KJuma. He shows a slim smartphone. The Surface Phone will have similar Surface logo at the rear while the front has the usual Microsoft branding and three capacitive buttons.

The Surface Phone appears close to a phablet with a massive display. Previous reports suggested a 5.5-inch display with 2560×1440 resolution. On the rear, Surface phone has speaker roles above the camera module.

The tiny text details on the camera can be inferred as the Surface Phone having a top of the line Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens. There is a LED flash as well to help the camera in low light situations. There is also a USB Type-C support beneath the device. Previous rumors indicated that the device will have a dual camera setup.

Wireless Charging

The Surface Phone concept design also has two small strips at the rear of the device. MySmartPrice.com speculates that the strips would possibly mean wireless charging in the upcoming Surface Phone. The wireless charging is expected to become a norm in the upcoming smartphones, even including Apple?s iPhone 8.

Performance

Microsoft?s 2017 flagship phone will set precedence in terms of performance delivery. Microsoft and Qualcomm have collaborated to bringing the Snapdragon 835 chipset and Cobalt emulation for x86 apps. The phone also packs a 6GB RAM, but most of it would be useful in successfully running 64-bit Windows apps when in Continuum mode.

The Surface Phone?is expected to launch at the MWC 2017, but it will?arrive later. Speculation and rumors have it that smartphone?will release during the second half of 2017.
