The Wentworth season 4 episode 12 was able to garner only about 95,000 views as not everyone was ready to reach the end of the season. However, the show was able to increase its viewership during its season premier by 33 percent. It had 100,000 viewers during the season 3 premiere and 140,000 viewers for season 4. One major concern though is that the viewers are always left in awe. There are no leaks, even from the cast members and writers, as to what will happen next. An interview with Jo Porter, executive producer of Wentworth and director of drama for FremantleMedia Australia, may answer this.
Jo Porter?s name has come up once again. An article released recently offered a quick overview of what will happen in season five. She said that there will be new faces that will be seen inside and outside of the prison. It is unknown who those new faces will be. However, it was revealed why Wentworth fans cannot know what?s coming.
In an interview with the Australian Government?s Screen Australia, Porter reveals why spoilers do not and will never come through the Wentworth fans? way, ?As Wentworth has a big global online community sitting around it, we have been very careful to avoid any chance of spoilers in the windowing of any remakes.? Porter also revealed something to TV Week Logie Awards.
Is Bea Smith alive?
TV Week, apparently, gave Porter a call to ask once and for all, maybe for the sake of the fans? sanity, whether or not Bea is really dead. Porter confirms that Danielle Cormack will have to bid farewell to the show. She says, “It is always an incredibly difficult decision to say farewell to a much-loved and revered character like Bea Smith.?
?Which is why this storyline has had such a huge impact on us all and we are sure fans will feel the same. This decision was particularly hard as it meant also saying goodbye to Danielle Cormack.?
Porter continues the interview by thanking Danielle Cormack for all her hard work on creating Bea Smith for the first four seasons. She also wishes to work with Cormack in the future. TV Week also says that season 5 will start shooting on Monday, August 1, according to Foxtel.
