[Watch] Your Name US Release

Since the premiere of Kimi no Na Wa / Your Name in Japanese theaters last August, fans have been anticipating its English dub release. Due to its success, Makoto Shinkai?s animated movie will be released in the US by FUNimation Entertainment. It was reported that this film is aiming to qualify for the Oscars. See the English Dub trailer below and updates on Your Name US release.

For the first time in thousands of years, a comet has fallen in Japan. Kimi no Na Wa / Your Name is the story of Mitsuha, a high school girl who feels trapped living in the countryside, and Taki, a talented artist/high school boy living in Tokyo. One day, both of them have a dream of switching places ? ?Mitsuha dreamt that she was a young man living the life of Taki, while Taki dreamt he was Mitsuha, attending high school in the countryside. Soon they find out they aren?t dreaming and that they are actually switching places, back and forth, in real life. Sleep somewhat triggers it. So how did this happen?

From here on, as the movie progresses, the plot takes another turn, revealing perhaps a bigger purpose as to why Mitsuha and Taki were brought together by this phenomenon.

Those who have seen the movie were surely taken by surprise. A popular anime character, Yukari Yukino from Shinkai?s classic, Garden of Words, played another in Kimi no Na Wa / Your Name. Yukino plays the role of Mitsuha?s Japanese literature teacher, Katsuhiko, as well as Sayaka.
