Watch Field Reporter Wendy Burch Run After Aussie Hunk During Live TV Broadcast [Viral]

By on

Wendy Burch, a news anchor and field reporter for Los Angeles-based CW-affiliated television station KTLA, recently made social media headlines when she chased a shirtless Australian hunk after she did an interview with him during a live broadcast.

Wendy Burch was on the beach of Dana Point in southern Orange County, California, reporting about shark sightings when she spotted a shirtless Australian guy going about his running routine.

She invited the guy to do a live on-air interview to give his thoughts about the shark sightings and the possibility of the beach getting shut down.

Still panting, the topless Australian runner immediately went down to business. He explained that there?s no reason for the authorities to close the beach.

?The honest truth is that, I mean, the sharks will always be there. Why do you think there are always shark sightings, that?s because we got more people trying to look for sharks. But they?re not gonna hurt you.?

Turning to face the camera, he went on, ?The truth of the matter is, the sharks are always there. The sharks are always gonna be there. Just because we see one shark doesn?t mean somebody?s gonna get bit or we got to shut down the beach.?

He then turned the blame on the media, saying, ?I think it?s just paranoia from the media, and just what we see on TV every day to be honest.?

It was at this point Wendy Burch began letting her emotions and giggles show. Just look at her reaction.

That priceless?

After the Aussie hunk said his piece, Wendy Burch asked him what his name was. He says, ?James.?

Wendy was not too shy to tell him, ?I love James. Thank you James in more ways than you know.?

After shaking his hand, James turned his back and started running away.

Wendy then faced the camera and let out a hearty laugh. ?I love that guy! I have nothing else to say. That?s James!?

However, the best (and funny) part of that interview came as Wendy was wrapping up. The studio-based news anchors told Wendy in jest, ?Why are you letting him go? Where is he from? You gotta get more info, Wendy. You let him off the hook.?

Wendy Burch replied, ?The story of my life!?

And then she did what everybody else would have done.

She dropped the microphone and began running after him. Surprisingly, the studio-based anchors then cheered Wendy on: ?You go, girl!?

Wendy took everything in stride. Obviously, she did in the spirit of fun and spontaneity. She later on posted this hilarious message on her Twitter account @goodnewswendy: ?There was a moment there when I looked into his eyes…. and completely forgot what we were talking about.? Notice that she even included a lovestruck emoji at the end.

It didn?t take long before the Twitter universe expressed its approval of Wendy Burch?s reaction. Some of these Twitter users even commented that they would have done the same exact thing if they were in Wendy?s position.

James the Aussie Hunk, who?s been nicknamed by a netizen as ?Shark James? got a love of lovin? from the Internet, too.

As expected, some Twitter users wanted to know what happened to Wendy and James.

Wendy Burch did not get to reply to these messages. However, judging from her hilarious tweet, Wendy had a good time doing her live report. And it looks like Wendy Burch already knows what kind of hot stories that she should be running after from now on.
