CW has some good news, especially for fans of the DC Universe. The network has just released its very own CW App. Users of the app will now be able to watch top-rated CW programs on their mobile devices anytime, anywhere.
The new CW App is a content-rich cross-platform application targeted to mobile devices users. Phones and tablets, whether Android- or iOS-based, will be able to benefit from the said app. However, it?s not just for mobile devices. The app also works on set-top boxes like AppleTV, Amazon Fire TV, Chromecast, Roku, AirPlay, and even on the Xbox.
The app enables users to stream regular CW network programs. Shows like Supergirl, The Flash, Arrow, and DC?s Legends of Tomorrow can be watched for free. Even the female-focused programs like Jane the Virgin and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend are included in the line up. Availing the streaming service does not require any fee at all, not even a login or subscription.
For the time being, only five episodes of the available shows will be featured for streaming. However, the network has assured that it will continue to expand its library of available programs in the days to come.
According to a network spokesperson:
?Since we began providing free next-day streaming of our shows a couple of years ago, digital viewing adds about an additional 20% to our linear viewing audience, although that number can vary depending on the show. Our most popular series last season digitally were ?The Flash? ? which is also our highest rated series on air ? and ?Jane the Virgin?.?
The CW App can be downloaded from the Apple App Store for all iOS users. Android phone and tablet users will be able to get the application from Google Play.
Amazon Fire TV users can download the CW App from Amazon itself. Meanwhile, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and Windows users can get their hands on the app through the Windows and Xbox Stores.
