The Walking Dead Season 7 adds two new non-comic book female characters to the roster who will be expected to make their debut in the middle of the upcoming season.

The two new characters are revealed to be Naomi and Jennie. TV Line?s Michael Ausiello writes, ?[Season 7] Episode 6 will introduce two new characters who don?t sound to me like anyone in particular from the comic-book series.?

He describes each of the new characters, ?Naomi is a grandmotherly type who, having lost so many loved ones, is now willing to do whatever it takes not to have to bury any more. (Maybe she?s being introduced to counsel Carol about the awful necessities of the post-apocalyptic world? ) On the flip side is Jennie, a sunny-side-up kinda teenager ? oh, Caaarl! ? who sounds a lot like Beth 2.0, ?kind, with a world-weary toughness.??

The new characters and their descriptions don?t appear to have any total resemblance to the comic book characters, though Comic Book writes that they could be members of the new community to be introduced which is the Kingdom led by Ezekiel. It is also possible that they are from the Hilltop. It will be more interesting if they are from the Kingdom since it?s a newer community and Carol and Morgan are on their way there after two ?knights? rescued them from that Savior who wants to kill Carol. Since we know Carol has this motherly, friendly neighbour-vibe when she?s not in beast mode, Naomi and Jennie could be the new friends she will get to know in their stay at the Kingdom.

Or will the two new characters just be zombie or Savior-bait just like other non-comic book characters who only lasted one episode? What do you think?

Are you excited for Season 7?

The Walking Dead Season 7 returns this October with its first trailer to debut at the San Diego Comic Con in mid-July.

Meanwhile, the zombie spinoff Fear the Walking Dead Season 2 resumes this August on AMC.
