The Walking Dead Season 7 has been suffering the consequences of the cliff-hanger they pulled in the Season 6 finale, making fans suffer even more with their somewhat ?restricted? teasers. They?re not showing any photos or footages of the aftermath of the Lucille death row because, obviously, we?d find out who survived and who didn?t.
Judging from the teasers, the second half of the Season 2 of the spinoff, Fear the Walking Dead, appears to be more exciting than its mother series. But TWD recently released new photos from Season 7 which show Negan shooting at someone, Carol who looks to be in trouble, and more.
While we obviously want to find out who Negan bludgeoned to death via his barbed wire-wrapped baseball bat, Lucille, we?re stuck with teasers from other upcoming storylines. This is actually good because it?s a sign of the new and larger world that Rick and the survivors will be living in.
One photo shows Negan taking aim at someone and he?s obviously enjoying it. There is also a photo of him at the gates of Alexandria, and as recalled in the first Season 7 trailer, he already entered the community. This means that he will be asserting his authority in Alexandria, and his first kill, which Rick and the others all saw, will incite fear in them so they will be forced to bend to his will.
Sounds exciting (and scary), huh? In the Season 6 finale, we never expected to see the mighty Rick Grimes tremble on his knees and be totally powerless over the whole situation. The introduction of Negan and the death of a major TWD character was a huge turning point in the comics but the series ended that moment with a cliffhanger.
But creator Robert Kirkman must have a valid reason for choosing to end that big moment with a cliffhanger and he promises that in Season 7, no more similar cliffhangers will be expected. ?Look, I think as a creative person I have to acknowledge that all responses are valid,? Kirkman told EW when asked about his response to fans? negative reaction to the Season 6 finale.
He continued, ?So I definitely have to take note that there?s a seemingly significant portion of the audience that wasn?t happy with that direction, so in that respect I think everyone on The Walking Dead creative team has taken note of that, and I don?t know that I would expect a similar cliffhanger at the end of season 7.?
The other new photos released by AMC show Carol, who seems to be in trouble. But as we saw in the trailer, she?s safe and even happy at the yet to be introduced community called the Kingdom. The new community is led by King Ezekiel who has a pet tiger named Shiva. We will also see more of Jesus, Morgan, and of course, the new star of the show, Negan played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan.
