Who would have thought that Rick Grimes would survive a zombie apocalypse until Season 5? Now fans are preparing themselves for another gruesome Season 6, as announced during this month?s San Diego Comic-Con where the cast of The Walking Dead converged with fans.
One thing is for sure, it?s that Rick and his group aren?t safe anywhere. Taking them to Alexandria, maybe it is the place that Rick can go home but what is in store for Season 6 is anybody?s guess.
Here?s another spoiler: Those who survives Season 5 are expected to reprise more of their roles in Season 6, so we all know that producers have a pretty sweet long-term plan for the show ? hooray for zombies!
The San Diego Comic-Con fans were told that Season 6 of The Walking Dead will premiere on October 11th with an hour and a half episode (we can?t wait!), followed by Talking Dead. The season will internationally premiere in 125 countries.
Andrew Lincoln and Norman Reedus, together with Steven Yeun, Danai Gurira, Melissa McBride, Chandler Riggs, Sonequa Martin-Green, Michael Cudlitz and Lennie James summed up the present cast members during the event. Lauren Cohan wasn?t available but good thing Yeun was there to relay a message to everyone telling them how much she missed the bunch.
Deadline.com stated that Fellow EP and creator of?The Walking Dead?comics Robert Kirkman was expected to attend as well?but?canceled his entire SDCC schedule this week because of throat surgery he underwent earlier this month.
All we know from the trailer is that Rick Grimes is no longer ?the man of the house? and the number of zombies isn?t close to getting to zero (of course!). With Lennie James? Morgen taking over, who knows what will happen next. The director of The Walking Dead sure has a lot on his table.
Another (non) spoiler: New characters from the comics are expected to be introduced come Season 6 such as Corey Hawkins as Heath.
As for the plot, it is hinted that Season 6 will tackle some back stories from the comics ? all thanks to Robert Kirkman being in the helm of the series this time.
And with Kirkman behind the wheels, expect to receive thrilling episodes and zombie brutality at its best. This series will surely be enjoyed by millions of fans for years to come.
