W Korean drama?s ratings officially overtook its rival show, Uncontrollably Fond. Because of this, fans of the Suzy Bae ? Kim Woo Bin starrer could not help but blame the KBS series? cast and plot.

Official reports on the viewership of Wednesday-Thursday TV shows were released by Nielsen Korea on July 28. It detailed that W Korean drama?s ratings reached 12.9 percent on its third episode, representing a 3.4 percent increase from episode two.

Uncontrollably Fond, which airs in KBS TV2 on the exact same time slot as W, gathered only 8.6 percent viewership.

The ratings update shared by Soompi received different types of comments from k-drama fans. Some admitted that Uncontrollably Fond?s cast still lacks acting skills, especially its lead actress, Suzy Bae.?Others explained that more viewers probably chose W because there is really nothing new with Uncontrollably Fond?s plot. The romantic comedy follows the love story of an independent documentary producer named No Eul [Suzy] and an arrogant celebrity named Shin Joon Young [Kim], who used to date when they were teenagers.

While Uncontrollably Fond ratings started out high on its first couple of weeks, its rather simple storyline could be a reason why viewers recently switched to W. The unique, webtoon-based fantasy drama stars Han Hyo Joo as Oh Yeon-Joo, a problematic female surgeon in her 30s who teleports between reality and a fantasy dimension created by her cartoonist father. This alternate realm is called ?W,? where she meets and falls in love with an Olympic gold medalist and media mogul named Kang Chul, played by Lee Jong-Suk.

The story of W Korean drama and Uncontrollably Fond are very different. However, the two shows have been constantly pitted against each other, especially because of their lead actresses.

Han Hyo Joo spoke up about feud rumors during a media event, wherein she was asked to comment about the alleged poor acting of Suzy Bae.

?I never thought about it,? the 29-year-old actress said in response to the controversial question.??I think it?s best to judge myself than to be judging others.?

?I think society encourages competition, but I think making a good drama matters more than competing,??she added.
