When The Voice aired a 30-minute sneak peek after the Rio Olympics Closing Ceremony, we went nuts over the crazy antics of Miley Cyrus and the equally talented Alicia Keys.
Clearly, the two stole the show from our boys Blake Shelton and Adam Levine. However, the blind auditions in Season 11 premiere proper has yet another wonderful surprise in Ali Caldwell. Caldwell blew the judges away with her rendition of Ariana Grande’s Dangerous Woman.
The YouTube video shows how Caldwell’s sexy take on Grande’s hit song wowed Shelton and Levine. Eventually, Cyrus and Keys were also impressed with her vocal prowess. Eventually, they too turned around. So all four chairs turned, and Caldwell got a standing ovation from the audience as well.
Things get rough as the judges fought over Caldwell and convince her why she should be in his/her team. Levine is SUPER persistent. He says, “my entire season hinges on whether or not I have you on my team.” Great. No pressure, Levine. No pressure at all.
Keys goes on stage and embraces Caldwell. But then Levine ?does the same thing! What’s more, he calls her entire family to join her onstage!
“Goodness gracious, he’s scaring you,” Keys tells Caldwell. The singer is definitely torn on which mentor to pick. Who wouldn’t be?!
Caldwell then says this before making her final choice, “One thing my mom always taught me is dare to be different.”
Enjoy Caldwell’s blind audition above, but don’t miss out on The Voice Season 11 premiere on Monday, September 19, 8 p.m. on NBC.
