The Voice 2016 predictions is going great for Alicia Keys. She gets yet another goldmine of a talent in the person of 20-year-old Christian Cuevas from Illinois. He got a three-chair turn from Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and Alicia Keys.
Among all of the singing reality shows out there, The Voice stands out from the rest because the coaches judge you not by your look, your weight, or the color of your skin. They judge you by the power, quality, and the soul of your voice. And if it?s soul you?re searching for, Cuevas definitely has it. And, Keys was quick to point this out to him.
Keys said she remembers her 19-year-old self in him when she first came out. She said, ?To tap all these emotions. And I know you. Either you got it or you don’t got it, and you got it! And I felt you man!? Cuevas probably felt it too, and it?s no surprise that he chose her in the end.
Miley Cyrus, on the other hand, didn’t turn around because she did not feel like she was the right coach for his voice. As for the other two judges, better luck next time. Levine loved Cuevas’ thick, incredible voice quality. Shelton was equally wowed by it.
Where All The Emotion Came From
When asked this question, he said he was thinking about his dad who passed away just a year ago. The Orlando resident and Rollins College music student belted out Michael Bolton’s How Am I Supposed to Live Without You. And he was thinking how on earth is he going to go on now that his father is no longer around.
Second Try- Bullseye!
Actually, this is not Cuevas’ first time to audition for The Voice. Right after his dad’s diagnosis, he waited in line in Louisiana a few years ago, but no luck for him. He didn’t pass his first audition and it was truly heartbreaking. He felt like he couldn’t do it again. But in December, producers contacted him again via his YouTube account. He said, “They told me if I could make it out in Memphis, I got a callback.”
And he got more than a callback indeed. Three coaches were calling on him to join their team. But it was Keys? ?knowing heart? that won him over. Stay tuned for more inspiring moments on The Voice. Watch it Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on NBC.
