Vikings Season 4 spoilers are circling around the interwebs. Thanks to the awesome Comic-Con trailer, we can now get a glimpse of what will happen in the world of our favorite Vikings. If you missed it by any chance, you can check it out below.
In a recent TheBitBag article, we have explored three arcs that might unfold by analyzing the trailer. One of those arcs is the Lagertha vs. Aslaug one–a queen vs. queen battle. This has been confirmed by Katheryn Winnick, Lagertha the former shield maiden herself, in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. She revealed that there will be a ?cat fight? between the two power women. They will go head to head. She added that ?It?s a really interesting scene because you don?t expect what happens.?
This could be a part of the overall theme of the fall of an aging and likely drug-addicted Ragnar. In his fall, his sons and others seek to gain power or maybe, in a sense, restore his glory. It quite usual that when a leader loses his or her edge, new challengers or supportive successors appear.
Here are possible Vikings Season 4 spoilers that could happen in the Lagertha vs. Aslaug arc below.
One speculation here is that Lagertha would lose to Aslaug. Aslaug is the current queen of Kattegat and has four children with Ragnar. Lagertha has only one, Bjorn. Bjorn has also been shown to sail to the Mediterranean with Floki–this is something that Winnick had revealed. She added that Bjorn?s and Floki?s relationship will flourish. With Bjorn away, who would have Lagertha?s back?
Compound this that historically Ivar the Boneless, son of Ragnar and Aslaug, is known to be the one of the most, if not the most, famous viking. He was credited for leading successful attacks in England and in Ireland. Also, in the trailer, Ragnar seemed to endorse Ivar, saying that soon the world will know his name. How could Ivar manage to do so without the manpower in Kattegat?
Lagertha though, is not expected to be killed off, as rumor has it that Winnick is filming already for Vikings Season 5. Is this speculation reasonable? Do you think Lagertha will lose? Will Ragnar interfere? Will there be some amicable compromise? I guess we shall see.
