The teaser was posted on the official Twitter page of AMD. Apparently, AMD appears to be using a simple tweet of ?New Year. New Architecture? to hype their fans a little early this year. Obviously, AMD is teasing their next-gen Vega GPU architecture which is still a mystery at the present time.
The teaser shows a person heading towards a bright red light. AMD has yet to confirm its meaning as it could be a part of a trailer for the Vega architecture. However, it?s crystal clear that this official teaser indicates that the Vega GPUs are arriving early next year.
AMD has been keeping everything under wraps for a while now. However, with the CES 2017 drawing near, it could mean that the AMD Vega release date is sometime in January. There are multiple reports on the Internet that indicate the presence of AMD Vega GPUs during the CES next year.
In addition to AMD Vega 10, rumors suggest that the same company is also unveiling the Zen CPU lineup during the said event. Furthermore, this teaser could only mean that the Vega GPU architecture is very close. People should expect it to arrive in January or early February.
AMD Vega Specs
As for the specifications, we have already seen two types of Vega GPU showcased by AMD. First one is codenamed Instinct MI25 Accelerator, which became the center of attraction at Tech Summit 2016. The AMD Vega 10 GPU is said to have a peak computer performance of 12.5 TFLOPs when it comes to single precision mode.
