The game turned anime is getting a comeback with a remaster and a whole new game.
Sega has announced that a new Valkyria Chronicles game is under development, Valkyria: Azure Revolution will be available for the PlayStation 4 along with the original Valkyria Chronicles as a PlayStation 4 remaster. The news was revealed from the latest issue of Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu and was reported by Gematsu.
Valkyria: Azure Revolution takes place where the Rus Empire has achieved rapid growth from the industrial revolution thanks to the discovery of a new mineral called Ranite. The Empire then decided to expand its territory and during its expansion, they blockade the small country of Judland, who is fighting for independence and freedom.
The protagonist of the game will be a commanding officer of the Judland Kingdom?s Anti-Valkyria Unit, other characters were also revealed, such as Ophelia; the princess of Judland and Brynhildr; a Valkyrian that sided with the Rus Empire, so far these were the only characters that were revealed.
The battle system will be called LeGION, which is somewhat similar to the battle system from the original Valkyria Chronicles game, where it is describe as a real-time system with simulation elements, but the difference from the original is that multiple characters can act simultaneously.
Valkyria: Azure Revolution will be develop by Media Vision, the same team behind the development of Valkyria Chronicles 3 for the PlayStation Portable. The new game is expected to launch in Japan in 2016, a demo of Azure Revolution will be included with the remastered version of the original Valkyria Chronicles for the PlayStation 4, which will arrive in Japan on February 10, 2016. The remaster will have improved visuals, DLC and Trophy support. There are no news if Azure Revolution will also have a Western release, as Valkyria Chronicles 3 for the PSP did not receive a Western launch.
