Fans hoping to see the Uncharted 4 story DLC will be disappointed to know that it will not be coming out anytime soon. On one hand, it is good news for fans who are hoping it will be of good quality; on the other though, it means players who bought the season pass are in for a long wait before the extra money they paid will mean something for them.
The news was confirmed in a recent multiplayer livestream of the acclaimed PS4 exclusive, where Naughty Dog?s Arne Meyer stated that we would not be seeing any single-player DLC for some time. Meyer stated that development for the game?s single-player DLC didn?t start until after the main game was finished. Considering how many times Uncharted 4 was delayed, it could take a while before we see what Naughty Dog has in store for players.
Considering how the most recent game ended, it?s safe to assume that the Uncharted 4 story DLC will probably star Sam Drake instead of series? protagonist Nathan Drake. Should an Uncharted 5 ever get announced, most fans are expecting Sam or Sully to be the protagonist, since making Nathan the lead again will feel very contrived from a storytelling point of view.
Until the story DLC comes out, fans have the multiplayer to look forward to. Sony recently announced a new patch for the game that would be coming out today on the PlayStation Blog. The patch is quite big, weighing in at 1.3GB, but it comes packed with some multiplayer DLC to keep fans of the game happy.
The multiplayer DLC comes with a new class and ranking system as well as the Lost Treasures map, which should satisfy gamers who are sick of the areas in the game. It might not be as good as having some single player DLC to play through, but it does give fans who have beaten the game something to do.
Uncharted 4: A Thief?s End is available now on the PS4. The game is a PS4 exclusive and is one of the highest-rated games of 2016 thus far.
