Uncharted 4: A Thief?s End has officially gone gold. The final chapter in the saga of famed fortune hunter Nathan Drake is finally complete following a lengthy development process and several delays. The news comes straight from Naughty Dog creative director Neil Druckmann, who posted a picture of the finished game on his Twitter account.
Uncharted 4 Goes Gold
The game was initially given a release date of March 11, 2015, but was pushed back a full year in order to give Druckmann and the rest of the Naughty Dog team more time to finish the game. Last December, Sony delayed the title even further, ?an April 26, 2016 release date. The third and final delay happened at the start of this month, with the game pushed back an additional two weeks to May 10, 2016 to allow for a simultaneous worldwide launch. Druckmann?s announcement indicates that, barring some incredible turn of events, Uncharted 4 will finally be released on the scheduled date.
Uncharted 4 is easily the most anticipated title coming to consoles this year and the crown jewel in the PlayStation 4?s 2016 lineup. Trailers and teasers have shown off the game?s impressive visuals and tense, white-knuckle action.
?Set three years after the events of UNCHARTED 3: Drake?s Deception, Nathan Drake has presumably left the world of fortune hunting behind. However, it doesn?t take long for adventure to come calling when Drake?s brother, Sam, resurfaces seeking his help to save his own life and offering an adventure Drake can?t resist.? A Thief?s End will see Nathan Drake and his brother Sam on the hunt for the treasure of famed pirate Captain Henry Avery.
