Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is one of the best PS4 games out right now. Dazzling fans and critics alike, the fourth ? and possibly final ? entry of the franchise has endeared itself to many a gamer, to the point that everyone is actually excited about the game’s upcoming single-player DLC. Unfortunately, it does not look like the Uncharted 4 DLC will be coming out anytime soon.
During an interview with Twinfinite, voice actor Troy Baker, who portrays Samuel Drake in the game, stated that the Uncharted 4 DLC will not be coming out anytime soon. It seems like the developers in Naughty Dog are still exhausted after releasing the critically acclaimed fourth installment of the Uncharted series, and they are still discussing ideas for the extra story content.
Considering the numerous delays that Uncharted 4 faced, it’s easy to see why the development team might be tired. It’s clear that the game might be the studio’s magnum opus ? though some would argue that it’s The Last of Us ? so developers clearly worked hard on the game and seem to be on the pre-development phase of it.
It’s doubtful that Nathan will be returning to the protagonist slot after the events of the fourth game, so there is a good chance that his brother Sam or his good friend Sully will be the lead in the first bit of the single-player Uncharted 4 DLC. While the developers could always go for a prequel route, that might feel cheap considering the ending was an emotional one for those who beat the game.
Right now, the DLC for the game is all multiplayer-focused. There are now a ton of costumes and characters to use, along with new locales for battles to take place in. While most fans would love the single-player DLC, it’s clear that the developers are taking their time in making it.
Naughty Dog?s last Uncharted game is currently available as a PlayStation 4 exclusive. The game has received plenty of praise since it was released and will likely be a Game of the Year candidate. Just don’t expect the single-player Uncharted 4 DLC anytime soon. ?
