By on

Capcom has announced that Ultra Street Fighter 4 will be launching this coming June 3 2014 through the PlayStation Network and on June 4 through Xbox Live.

Ultra Street Fighter 4 is an evolution of the Street Fighter series and it continues to build on the franchise by adding five new characters as well as six new stages for even more button bashing and plain old fun. The game also has rebalanced gameplay as well as original modes making it one of the best that the Street Fighter series has to offer.

The game?s new five characters are: Poison, Hugo, Elena, Rolento, and Decapre. They will be joining in on the fighting action together with their own set of unique play styles. The current Street Fighter roster will now be bumped up to a total of 44 different characters.

Previous owners of Street Fighter games like Super Street Fighter 4 and Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition will be able to upgrade to Ultra Street Fighter 4 for $14.99. The physical copies of Ultra for both the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 will be available beginning on August 5 for $39.99 together with a $29.99 downloadable edition which bundles Super Street Fighter 4 with the Ultra Street Fighter 4 update for the PS3.

For PC gamers, the game will be available for download both as a separate upgrade and a $39.99 game bundle through Steam.

Players who will be purchasing retail bundles for both the PS3 and Xbox 360 will automatically receive all previously released costumes for the game. In addition to that, pre-orders for the Ultra Street Fighter 4 game will get the 2014 Challengers Costume pack which includes costume skins for all the five new characters that will be joining the roster. The costumes include: Pirate Poison, Jungle Elena, Medieval Hugo, Wizard Rolento, and Gladiator Decapre. The trailer below should give you ?a first look at the new costumes.

There has been a lot of anticipation building up for the game since it was announced last year during the 2013 Evo fighting games tournament. Only a few weeks remain before players can get started with the game.
