Though UFC?s New York City debut is just weeks away but UFC 205 pay per view schedule still remains without a official main event. On Friday officials confirmed two more bouts for the event that takes place November 12 at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Women’s strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk is set to defend her belt against fellow Pol Karolina Kowalkiewicz, reported CBSSports. Plus, former women’s bantamweight champion Miesha Tate will take on Raquel Pennington. Earlier this week several other bouts were announced on the ?UFC Tonight.?
However, the main card that airs on pay-per-view following prelims on FS1 and UFC Fight Pass remains hotly debated. There are rumors of the ruling featherweight champion Conor McGregor is set to make it for the main event.
McGregor vs Alvarez
Though McGregor hasn?t been officially offered to fight on the Nov. 12 card, persistent rumors hint that he in line to face Eddie Alvarez. UFC lightweight champion Alvarez has been eagerly campaigning for a title fight against the Irishman at UFC 205. Alvarez even took to Twitter to post challenge on Wednesday:

But Wednesday?s ?UFC Tonight? report hinted that The Notorious is ?highly unlikely? to compete on the Nov.12 card. The reports stated that McGregor is currently ?rehabbing? from a leg injury which he sustained during his clash win with Nate Diaz during their main event bout at UFC 202 back in August.
On the other hand, FOX Sports stated McGregor is healthy, training and would be ready for potential matchup with lightweight champ Alvarez at UFC 205. He seems to have healed up and is back in the gym after returning home to Ireland just recently. His head coach John Kavanagh too suggested McGregor was ?fine? and would be ready to compete within the time frame leading up to UFC 205.
Alvarez vs Nurmagomedov
However, UFC president Dana White revealed that he was looking to book Alvarez to defend his title against unbeaten Khabib Nurmagomedov. Nurmagomedov told Yahoo Sports he?d signed two contracts to fight Alvarez: one for UFC 205 in New York in November and another to fight him at UFC 206 in Toronto in December. It seems Alvarez did not sign by the provided deadline. The fight is now expected to be booked at UFC 206 this December.
McGregor vs Nurmagomedov
Nurmagomedov even sent a message for McGregor in a statement released to FOX Sports late Thursday by his manager as he awaits word on his lightweight title fight.
?I promise I?ll become the lightweight champ,? he said. ?I promise all the lightweight fighters, Conor is not going to fight for the belt. He?s going to have to earn it. From the bottom up.?
Nurmagomedov isn?t going to be there, because the UFC wants him to fight Alvarez in Toronto on Dec. 10.
McGregor vs Jose Aldo
Dana White told Yahoo Sports that he want McGregor to fight Jose Aldo.??Conor?s foot is hurt, but he thinks he can fight,? White said. ?I want him to fight Aldo.?
The McGregor v Aldo fight remains the most likely possibility for UFC 205. The rumors will finally get cleared when UFC announced the main event bout at a press conference scheduled take place on September 27 at Madison Square Garden.
