The UFC 203 elevator incident must have been hilarious for those who saw the video, but not for C.B. Dollaway. The UFC fighter was supposed to make his heavyweight debut. This during the opening fight on FOX Sports 1 broadcast. Unfortunately, the elevator accident gave him no choice but to pull out from his scheduled fight with Francimar Barroso.
On Saturday morning, UFC officials issued a statement that the accident was indeed the culprit behind Dollaway’s withdrawal. It said, “UFC announced that CB Dollaway has had to withdraw from his scheduled bout at UFC 203 due to an injury he suffered last night as a result of an elevator accident at a hotel in Cleveland. UFC officials have been in communication with hotel management, and the hotel is currently evaluating and investigating the issues surrounding the incident.”
It is still uncertain up to now if it’s the same incident. However, a video on Instagram showed Dollaway together with his fellow UFC fighters Urijah Faber, Fabricio Werdum and others. Same scenario, trapped in an elevator at the Wyndham Cleveland at Playhouse Square.
The nature of Dollaway‘s injury hasn’t been confirmed by MMAWeekly.com . But a report from them said he suffered a back injury. UFC officials were not able to comment about Barroso’s status.
