U.S. Cellular Samsung Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Mega 6.3 GT-I9200 Now Receiving Official Android 4.4.2 KitKat Firmware

Official Android 4.4.2 KitKat update is now out for users of the Samsung Galaxy S3 US Cellular model and the Galaxy Mega 6.3 GT-I9200. It features all the Android KitKat goodies, Samsung KNOX 2.0, cloud printing support and more.

Samsung Galaxy S3 US Cellular

Early reports caught a leak of the Samsung Galaxy S3 US Cellular running Android 4.4.2 KitKat out of the box on their official website. Now, users can start updating their Galaxy S3 smartphone to Android 4.4.2 KitKat.

Android 4.4.2 KitKat for Galaxy S3 SCH-R530 is available via Over the Air process that can be found by going to Settings > About Phone > Software Updates > Check for Updates. Users may also attempt to use the Samsung Kies PC Suite installed on a computer in case the OTA update is not yet available in the area.

Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 Android KitKat

In addition to Galaxy S3 US Cellular, Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 with model number GT-I9200 is also receiving an official Android 4.4.2 KitKat. It was supposed to be released next month, but Samsung decided to roll out the firmware early for unknown reason.

It is currently rolling out in Russia via Samsung Kies PC Suite and expected to be pushed via OTA as well. Other regions will have to wait as software updates are always released gradually which may take up to several weeks depending on the territory and network carrier.
