If you have been a keen observer when it comes to video game releases, particularly with Ubisoft?s titles, you might have noticed that since 2009, there?s always a new addition to the Assassin?s Creed franchise every fall. This year?s not an exception and we will actually have TWO of them.
The first one is called ?Assassin?s Creed: Unity?. More or less, this will be the project alias while it is still under development. Based on the screens revealed by Kotaku, the game is now going to be set in Paris.
According to multiple ?sources? it is also reported that Assassin?s Creed: Unity will be released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Most likely, it will also be ported to PC, but there?s no word for Wii U. The other Assassin?s Creed codenamed ?Comet? will be released for Xbox360 and PlayStation 3 instead.
An anonymous source leaked some screenshots from the game?s early developments and it certainly shows that the game is indeed, going to be set in Paris with obvious landmarks such as Notre-Dame Cathedral and the Seine River. Another thing to be noticed in the screens is the HUD where it says ?Parkour Up? and ?Parkour Down? buttons. This will be a new navigation control scheme that will be first introduced with this upcoming title.
Just a few weeks ago, rumors about this next installment of the Assassin?s Creed series already swirled up in a gaming forum called NeoGAF and just eventually, it was confirmed by Nicholas Gigante from Examiner. Assassin?s Creed: Unity?s story will take place in the era of the French revolution and will have a protagonist under the character of Arno.
When they have tried contacting Ubisoft, they declined to comment anything about the leak or the entire Assassin?s Creed: Unity subject at all.
