Trade your Macbook air to SurfacePro 3 and receive $650 from Microsoft

By on

Microsoft announced that from June 20- July 31, old Macbook Air laptops can be traded and the owners will be given a discount from $799 to $150 which includes purchasing a brand new Surface Pro 3. ?Same promotion technique was used by Microsoft when they offered $200 for Ipad and Iphone. Microsoft’s goal is to lure Apple owners to own Microsoft devices.

With the trade-in discount, the $799 base model Surface Pro 3 comes to just $150.?The Windows 8.1-powered Surface Pro 3 is equipped with a?12-inch, 2,160 by 1,440 resolution display and a 4th-generation Intel Core processor.

“?Look at how thin it is. Not an illusion, it’s easy to do something like that on stage, done it plenty, but just take a look right here and how thin it is.?And I’m just going to walk you through that in just a minute,?Panos Panay said”.?Surface chief Panos Panay spent a large amount of time during the Surface Pro 3 press event comparing it to the MacBook Air in terms of weight and thinness, The Verge reports.???Microsoft believed ?that this device is the first one that can truly compel consumers of replacing both their current tablet and laptop altogether that is why they got into a promotion as such.

In PCMag’s comparison of the two products, the only thing that stood out is the price. “The Surface Pro 3’s price is somewhat cost-prohibitive. The system we got in for testing came in at $1,299 for the aforementioned Core i5 CPU, 8GB of memory, a 256GB solid-state drive (SSD), and the pen. What’s notably absent is the Type Cover, a $129.99 premium. In contrast, the Apple MacBook Air 13-inch configuration we reviewed cost $1,099 for an Intel Core i5-4260U CPU, 8GB of memory, and a 128GB SS, PCMag stated.”

If you are interested, bring your Macbook air to a Microsoft store and of course Microsoft will also have to set standards for the trade. To be eligible, laptop must be able to power on, in good condition and the model may also matter.?Macbook Air damaged by water and has cracks may not be traded-in.?There is no definite pricing yet for older models. Again, promo runs until the end of July.?
