If you thought that the Toy Story had concluded already, then you?re in for a treat as Pixar has announced the fourth installment to every 90?s kid favorite toy movie of all time. That?s right, Toy Story 4 is coming and a whole new kind of adventure awaits Woody and his gang.
Woody and Mary Bo Peep
John Lasseter, Disney?s Chief Creative Officer, spoke at the recent D23 conference at the Anaheim Convention Center and confirmed that they will be making Toy Story 4 with Woody as the center of what would be a different kind of love story.
The movie will bring back Woody and Bo Peep that will change take their relationship to a whole other level. ?It?s something we?ve never done with Toy Story before,? John Lasseter said, from BBC News. ?At Pixar and at Disney we only do a sequel if we have come up with something that?s as good or better than the original. That?s our rule,? he added. ?We don?t do things just to print money. It?s about great stories, that?s what we do.?
?Toy Story? gang is back
Following the announcement, Disney shared with us that it will ?open a new chapter in the live of Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and the ?Toy Story? gang,? from Cinemablend. Maybe we?ll see the whole band together again. Although no actors have been guaranteed for the new movie, it?s safe to assume that Tom Hanks and Tim Allen might return as Woody and Buzz, respectively, for Toy Story 4.
John Lasseter?s life with Toy Story has become an unforgettable experience for him and everyone who watched. His excitement for the movie will surely extend to what will be a great movie yet. ?We love these characters so much; they are like family to us. We don?t want to do anything with them unless it lives up to or surpasses what?s gone before. ?Toy Story 3? ended Woody and Buzz?s story with Andy so perfectly that for a long time, we never even talked about doing another ?Toy Story? movie. But when Andrew, Pete, Lee and I came up with this new idea, I just could not stop thinking about it. It was so exciting to me, I knew we had to make this movie ? and I want to direct it myself,? he shared, from Cinemablend.
Toy Story 4 is set to release on June 16, 2017. John Lasseter will be returning to direct the film along with Andrew Stanton, Pete Docter, and Lee Unkrich, who have been in the Toy Story team since the first movie.
