MWC will be held in Barcelona, Spain this year. The events will begin on Feb. 22 to 25. Press conferences before the event are also scheduled on February 21, 2016.

Samsung has been the stealing the show for the last couple of years with the Samsung Galaxy S5 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 smartphones. They will try to make a hat-trick this year with the Samsung Galaxy S7 as well. The top features that are expected to be a part of the Samsung flagship are the inclusion of waterproofing and the return of the MicroSD slot. The biggest feature that is expected from the Galaxy S7 will be a better battery.

LG has invited the press for their press conference on Feb. 21, 2016 before the MWC. The LG G5 will make its showcase in MWC 2016. The LG flagship is expected to sport curved edges and a plush metal body. According to media reports, the LG G5 will have an exceptionally designed body.

Sony has also followed LG and sent invites for the press conference before MWC begins. The invites don?t make it clear whether the smartphone manufacturer?s agenda has any smartphone to talk about. Sony hasn?t been big on smartphones at MWC as they favor tablets like the Sony Z2 and the Sony Z4 in the past.

HTC is expected to announce their flagship, HTC One M9 at MWC 2016. The next smartphone in the lineup, the HTC M10 could also be announced at this year?s event. There are rumors about extended battery life and improved sound on the yet to be announced HTC M10 smartphone.

Microsoft has already launched the flagship Microsoft 950 XL and Microsoft 950 smartphones. Any follow up flagship from Microsoft is not expected. Microsoft could present the Microsoft 750 and Microsoft 850. Both these smartphones are mid-range as far as price and specifications are concerned. The Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas ended less than two weeks ago, but the tech industry has Mobile World Congress at Barcelona to look up to for more.
