The popular benchmarking site AnTuTu published a list of top 10 best performance smartphones for the first half of 2016 and leading the list are several smartphones from China.
The top position is claimed by the recently released One Plus 3, the latest flagship smartphone from OnePlus, the company known for their rather affordable devices. The phone powered by Snapdragon 820, 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage was able to reach an average score of 140,288, which is one of the best average scores seen on AnTuTu, so far.?Although the Snapdragon 820 became a standard among this year?s flagships, OnePlus 3 unleashes the full potential of Qualcomm?s latest chipset unlike in several others where it is throttled.
OnePlus 3 even trumped globally popular flagship series like that of Apple?s iPhone 6S and Samsung?s Galaxy S7 for the top slot. The larger 6GB RAM which has become a standard for many Chinese devices is responsible for boosting up performance levels of the OnePlus 3 in comparison to the iPhone 6S and the Galaxy S7 which pack 2GB and 4GB of RAM, respectively. In fact, Apple and Samsung?s phones didn?t make it to the top 5 either with Chinese manufacturers clearly leading the way.
The Vivo XPlay Elite 5 Edition is holds the second position in the list of top 10 best performance smartphones as it managed to score 138,706 points on average on the benchmarking website, thanks to its top-end specs that include a Snapdragon 820, 6GB and 128GB ROM. The phone is also the first Chinese dual curved display smartphone and its other specs are a 16MP primary camera, an 8MP selfie shooter and 3600mAh battery.
Next up is the line LeEco?Le?Max 2, another Snapdragon 820 + 6GB + 64GB ROM phone, though there is 128GB ROM as well. This device managed to score 138,026 on an average, which is pretty good and just below the XPlay 5 Elite model. Other features include 5.7-inch Quad HD LED display, 21MP primary and 8MP rear camera as well as a USB Type C audio standard.
In the fourth and the fifth position are two more Chinese flagships namely the Lenovo?s ZUK Z2 Pro and Xiaomi Mi5. Besides a Snapdragon 820, 6GB RAM and 128GB ROM, ZUK Z2 Pro packs a 5.2-inch Full HD display, 13MP and 8MP camera sensors and 3100mAh battery with Quick Charge technology.
Xiaomi Mi 5 also beats Galaxy S7 for fifth place even though it packs similar specs to S7 as Snapdragon 820 paired with 4GB RAM. Other features of the phone are a 5.15-inch Full HD display, 16MP and 4MP cameras, and quick charge battery, etc. Xiaomi also plans to release another higher 6GB RAM variant to the Mi 5s as well as a Mi Note 2 which may further move Samsung and Apple down the list.
In all, there are seven Chinese models including Axon 7 and ZUK Z2 in the top 10 list which clearly shows the dominance of these phones in the first half of 2016. Non-Chinese phones ?that made it to this list of the top 10 best performance smartphones?include Galaxy S7 Edge (6th), iPhone 6S (7th) and the iPhone SE (9th).
