Toonami Shows: A Glimpse at History
Toonami is a brand name which is geared towards action packed programming. It consists primarily of American animation plus Japanese anime. It used to be an afternoon and evening block on Cartoon Network which ended on September 20, 2008. Right now, since May 18, 2012, it has become a late Saturday night adult-oriented animation block on Adult Swim. This was created by Jason DeMarco and Sean Atkins and produced by Williams Street. It’s a fusion of the words ‘cartoon’ and ?tsunami?, which suggest a ‘tidal wave’ of animated shows.
