Hugh Jackman?s iconic role as Wolverine for more than 10 years is almost at an end, so it?s time to put that claws to a male actor perfectly suited for the role. In Jackman?s case however, he already has someone in mind to replace him as Wolverine.
?I haven?t really given it a lot of thought,? Jackman said in an interview with MTV. Of course the veteran Wolverine actor doesn?t want his role to be easily replaced just yet. ?I?ve been asked that question a lot, and I?m always like, ?I don?t wanna make it too easy on the studio to replace me,? you know? I?ve still got one more to do,? he added.
?I?m sure they?re already talking about it, and there?s some actor [they?ve told] ?shh, keep it quiet but we want you next,?? he shared according to MTV. And after a quick thought on who could play a brand new Wolverine, Hugh Jackman gave his opinion. ?He?s younger than me for sure,? the actor said. ?I think Tom Hardy would be a great Wolverine.?
With that in mind, Tom Hardy is no stranger to comic book characters and action movies, thanks to his portrayal as Bane in ?The Dark Knight Rises? and ?Mad Max: Fury Road.? The actor also has an upcoming adaptation of ?100 Bullets? that will definitely give him leverage if ever they start auditions for the new Wolverine, according to Variety. So if Hugh Jackman thinks that Tom Hardy will be a great predecessor to his uncanny role as Wolverine, then we won?t have any problems about it.
Hugh Jackman will reprise his role as Wolverine for the last time in a standalone feature of ?The Wolverine.? Previous rumors also indicated that Jackman may have cameo appearances in the upcoming movies ?X-Men: Apocalypse,? ?Deadpool? or ?Gambit,? shared by Variety.
